Song writing and style with Hunger magazine

24 March

Song writing and style where the hot topics when Pixie sat down for a chat with culture magazine Hunger.

Pixie was talking to the magazine ahead of the release of her new self-title album, which is released this spring.

The album is a contemporary take on an old school vibe, and Pixie says it is influenced by artists such as Candi Staton and Otis Reading.

“Basically the style of the music is a mix of what I grew up listening to, soul music from the 60s and 70s, and the artist that I am.” Says Pixie. “So while it’s quite current sounding it’s ultimately very inspired by soul. That’s why I self-titled it because I think it’s the most me, and it’s the style that I love the most. So I’m excited I got to make this album.”

Pixie also chatted to the magazine about the inspiration behind the music video for the album’s lead single Nasty and her plans for the rest of the year.
